This one comes from our teacher gift list (and is one of the teachers favorite presents to receive we heard), but it is great to give to anybody. Because who doesn’t like a compliment? For the birthday of your BFF, the farewell of your sports coach or for your mom on Mother’s day. Hand out some plain cards and ask everyone to write, draw or craft a heartfelt compliment on it. Buy a nice bunch of flowers, like the ones at Ted&Anna and tie every compliment to a separate flower. He or she will be over the moon with this beautiful bouquet of compliments!

Saigon without motorbikes is like Paris without the Eiffel Tower! With the traffic getting worse each year, the quickest way to go around the city is without doubt by motorbike. You can buy one, but we like renting one since it includes repairs, monthly service and a few other advantages. Khannh Hoang motorbike rental has all types of motorbikes for rent, from a solid Honda to a hip Vespa. Mr Khanh is very reliable and the service is A-okay! Don’t forget to get a motorbike driving licence- the one from back home won’t do and it’s strongly recommended.
If you’re trying to reduce your plastic usage or go more green, this is the place to go to! But you can also just go because of all their great products. Refill your hand wash dispensers, shampoo bottles or soap jars with their nice smelling soaps. Buy bamboo tooth brushes or make up items that are beautiful as well as biodegradable . And stock up in other useful items that are nice to you ánd to nature. We’re massive fans!

Safety first! Not a bad idea, wearing a helmet in Ho Chi Minh City when driving your motorbike… and that’s an understatement. It’s also obligatory by the way. You can buy helmets on every corner, but you might want to invest in a slightly more solid one. Andes Helmets sells good quality helmets and there are stores all over the city. We like the one in D3.
250 Nguyen van Huong, D2
Motorbikes are not the only way to get around Ho Chi Minh City and in particular D2. A bicycle might come in handy too! The Bike Shop has good quality bikes and biking gear. And Nutcase helmets for kids. They also do repairs, and the service is excellent and reliable. Go on, give it a try. You know what they say: four wheels move your body, two wheels move your soul..

Although the temperatures in Saigon might be way above what you are used to when exercising, don’t give up on your sports! It’s not easy to find all the sports gear you need in Saigon, we’ve been there, but this is the place. Certainly don’t expect to find everything, however this is a good place to start… for helmets too by the way. In case you’re out of luck and can’t find what you’re looking for, the street is filled with sports gear shops, so you could try one of those.
54 Tran Nao, D2
